Summer Beauty Favourites- Part 2

After my long ramble over my other Summer beauty favourites (check out my previous post for part 1 if you haven't already) I can now feel guilt free for rambling again without making an hour long read for you all. So ill save the babbling for the products and get straight into it- enjoy:)

MAC face and body has been a favourite of mine since I have started wearing make-up as I have such dry skin and this is the only foundation I have found to not go patchy throughout the day *hooray*! I especially love this in summer as it can give a light tint to a fuller coverage if built up. This foundation also gives a dewy glow to the skin which I am a sucker for and keeps my skin shining all day (without looking sweaty- not a good look) this product is also amazing as - just like the name suggests- it can be used on your body. so if you want your legs out but cant stand that awful bruise- no problemo! Just put a light layer of this on and it will look just like your skin- no one will know!

I am very lazy when it comes to my hair and cant spend more than 15 minutes on it without being fed up or giving up -who is with me? Especially in summer so I tend to go for the messy beachy hair look, if I am out in the heat it will end up like that in the first place so may as well make it look intentional eh? The Mark Hill Beach Babe Salt Spray was a staple for me last summer and this summer it was the first thing I went out and purchased. This product gives your hair a beautiful tousled wavy look that looks styled yet effortless. Not only that but it also stays like that all day and holds perfectly. I find the smell of this product amazing and completely reminds me of my last summer and brings back good memories- looove it!

Bourjous Bronzing Primer has been a favourite of mine and since it has came out i have repurchased 3 times, yes 3 (ooops).. This product is the perfect dupe for Chanel Soleil de Tan and gives the face a natural looking glowing tan- just what you want in the summer time. I have always been a sucker for cream bronzers due to my dry skin so this product was like heaven for me! You can use this under foundation or just on its own all over the face for a natural tanned look or you can use it to give a natural perfect contour that blends amazingly! That on its own has me sold and the fact that it has the famous bourjois chocolate bronzer signature scent is an added bonus!

There has been a huge hype with the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet liquid lipsticks and boooy do I understand why!! These lip products are perfect for summer as they have amazing lasting power so wont melt or smudge over your face in the heat- no one likes the clown look. Not only that but they also come in the most beautiful bright summery shades. Although i do hope they come out with more- especially an orange *hint hint borjois* my favourite is 05 ole flamingo, the perfect fushia for summer that can amp up any natural look into a bold summer look without having to be re-applied throughout the day.

A summer favourites wouldn't be complete without a favourite summer scent would it? of course not! And I feel like this scent will always be my signature summer scent, it is gorgeous! Whenever I went into MAC I never thought to try there fragrance but oh my am I glad I did! Mac Turquatic is so light and fresh and smells exactly what you would expect from the word 'turquatic'. I have worn this scent almost every day this summer and constantly get compliments on its fresh unique scent. I am not a fan of overpowering scents in summer so this is perfect for me and now to mention the beautiful design on the bottle! I would recommend everyone to have a sniff next time your in a mac store- you wont regret it!

Every blonde wants to keep their hair bright and non brassy especially in summer and the Pro:Voke Touch of Silver shampoo is perfect to keep your blonde hair looking blonde and not yellow or dull. This is a staple in my hair care all year round but I like to use it more frequently in the summer to keep my blonde hair shining in the sun! If your a blonde then I could not recommend this enough, especially at the amazingly cheap price it is valued at!

Finally at the end of my long list of favourites is a hair oil- who doesnt want their hair shiny and glossy in the sunshine? My favourite is Argan oil as it makes my hair shiny and less dry without making my hair sticky or greasy. I purchased this from a pound store and it is going to last me years!- a little goes a long way! I would advise anyone to try a hair oil if they want shiny healthy hair and for £1 who could go wrong?

Finally my favourites are over for this summer *everyone sighs with relief* I hope that I haven't rambled too long and you have managed to read up to now (congratulations if you have)! I hope you have enjoyed looking at my summer favourites and please comment to let me know if you use or try out any of these products and what you think!!

Summer Beauty Favourites- Part 1

Since we are finally getting a hot summer in the UK *claps and cheers* I have had to adjust some of my beauty products to adapt to the heat and humidity. While doing this i have newly discovered and rediscovered some beauty products that i am now obsessed with and will be being repurchased for a very long time (sorry bank balance). These products have made this weather much more bearable as they keep me from not turning into a frizzy haired, smudged make-up, sweaty mess by the end of the day (not a look that I can pull off)

So...I thought that I would share some (well..A LOT) of these beauty favourites that I have accumulated this summer and hopefully these may help you if you are experiencing troubles adjusting to the hot weather too or you may even be loving some of these products already (There is a good reason why you should be).

I have seen the Garnier Micellar Water all over the 'blogging' and 'youtubing' world being raved about and being compared to the famous 'Biotherm' and there is a good reason why.. this product is A-MA-ZINGG! I'll put my hands up and admit that I am lazy when it comes to make-up removing and have resulted to make-up wipes in the past- which isn't the best way to remove make-up for your skin . However now I can finally remove my make-up just as easily with a product that feels just like water (not chemically at all) and its amazing for my skin. Since using this my skin has never looked better- I have very red blotchy skin and this has evened and toned it amazingly. And for the price that it is for such a big bottle, I couldn't recommend it enough; especially for someone thinking about purchasing Biotherm- this is the perfect dupe!

The famous Tangle Teaser- Do i even have to say any more? I have avoided the Tangle Teaser hype for a long time thinking "its just a brush, how can it be anything special" but boy was i wrong! This brush has changed my hairs life and it is forever thankful. I am forever bleaching my hair causing it to become very dry and in this summer heat it is drying out even more- causing extreme knots and tugs, ouch:(:(! Not only does this brush make brushing your hair completely painless, it also doesn't rip out your hair while doing so like a regular brush did to mine. This is perfect for keeping your hair not damaged in the heat of summer. oh..and did I mention the amazing colour and pattern range #obsessed

Bright nail varnishes- This is a must for any girl in summer, your toes are out in nice sandals for the world to see and you cant have dull unpainted toe nails (what a crime eh?) So having bright summery colours to give your hands and feet a makeover is a staple! I am loving the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine nail polishes in particular as they look like you've just had a Gellish manicure for a fraction of the price- what more could you want? and the colour range is amazing with every summer staple colour you could think of- perfection!

Now.. again I will be honest and admit that I am very lazy when it comes to moisturising my body, I always find it very time consumin; having to wait around all sticky waiting for it to dry and I always end up avoiding it unless I am fake tanning. But this Nivea in shower body moisturiser has made moisturising much easier and quicker and I now love doing it- wow something I never thought that I would say! I tend to have quite dry skin especially in summer under the heat so I have seen incredible results while using this product- I never thought the moisture would last after you've washed it off and dried yourself but WOW I was mistaken- I feel even more moisturised and my skin feels smoother than it ever has with a regular moisturiser. so this is a summer staple if you want shiny smooth skin! I also find it makes my tan stand out more after moisturising as your skin doesn't look dry and dull- and who doesn't want tanned skin eh?

I have lots more summer favourites to share but I have realised that I have rambled on a bit to much for one blog post- too excited over these product clearly! If you are interested in what other products I have been loving and I haven't bored you too much in this post *oops* then look out for my next blog post of part 2 that will be up straight after this.

let me know if you try any of these products, have been loving any of these products too and what products you have been loving during this hot summer!
lots of love

Get Ready For Summer☼

As most of you are thinking, to be "summer ready" you need to diet for months and exercise to get the "perfect" summer body. But thats not what summer is about and you shouldn't need to do any of that to feel confident in summer. Summer is an amazing time of year where its always hot (not where i live *boohoo*) and you have tons of spare time to be free and create fun memories with the people closest to you (i know what your thinking- this post is becoming cringe and cheesy but hear me out *haha*) But unfortunately for alot of girls (me included) summer has became a time that we dread to get out legs or stomachs out, or get back in those bikinis, and spend months before on horrible diets crying over wanting the "perfect" body.

But, stop all of the crazy diets and silly squat challenges etc (we've all tried them*lol*) and be happy with how you are, as i have put together some simple steps to get you summer ready and make every body the "perfect" body.

  1. The first step that i personally think is vital to get your body ready for summer is waxing - throughout the year i dont normally do this as it is alot more hassle but for summer it is essential as it leaves your legs perfectly smooth for so much longer so you dont have to worry if you forgot to shave your legs that day- just get your smooth waxed legs out and your good to go. I know most of you girls will agree that a few days into a holiday you notice hairs have magically appeared back on your legs when sunbathing and it becomes such a inconvenience to shave them everyday.
  2. Exfoliating your skin in preparation for summer is so important as you need to remove any of the dead skin on your body as if you are going anywhere hot, having new fresh skin will help your tan last much longer as it wont peel off with the dead skin on your body. It also makes your skin feel much smoothing which will make you feel much more confident
  3. If you are going anywhere hot feel free to skip this step, however if you are staying home like me fake tan is vital in preparation for my summer body. Not only does it give your skin the "ive just spent 2 weeks in the sun" look instantly (if done correctly *haha*) but it will also make you feel much more confident to get those shorts and dresses on no problem! I dont know if this is just me but i also feel like my body looks much slimmer when im tanned (its probably just my mind playing tricks on me *haha*)
  4. Summer is the perfect excuse to go and get a proper manicure as there is nothing better than having pretty looking nails that wont chip straight away when you are off on holiday right? For summer it is the only time i ever get acrylics but i love them and the long white tips look amazing in contrast with my tan. This also means that i dont have to worry about re painting them or them falling off. However that is my preference and even just a bright coloured nail varnish will look just as good and make you feel just as confident.
  5. There is nothing worse than having to change from all your winter boots into sandals without having your feet looking perfectly clean and fresh so a pedicure is very important. Ensuring all the dead skin has been removed from the heels and soles of your feet and your nails are nicely trimmed and polished will make you feel 100x more confident to get those piggys out and show your new pretty sandals off to the world (that will be modelled by beautiful feet *haha*)
  6. A deep hair mask and face mask are also steps that i like to do before summer comes as your skin and hair will forever be out in strong heat and will dry up, so it will be good to deeply condition your hair and moisturise your skin before it goes through that. This will also make your hair look gorgeous and refreshed and your skin look glowing and beautiful so will make you feel more confident being bare faced around the pool and when sunbathing.
  7. Just like the waxing i like to wax/thread my eyebrows when it comes to summer, usually i just pluck them however i hate having to worry about my brows on holiday so waxing/threading means that they will be perfect for weeks without you having to touch them. Your eyebrows frame your whole face so it is nice to make sure they are maintained in summer especially when you are bare faced are rely on them (i know i do *haha*) you can even go as far as tinting them if you want one less thing to worry about and if it makes you feel more confident it is completely to each persons preference
  8. Another extra, unimportant step i like to do if i am feeling extremely unconfident or self consious is teeth whitening as nothing can make you feel more confident than a bright white smile. This will contrast beautifully with your tan and will brighten up your face to detract from any imperfections you feel self concious about. Whitening my teeth makes me feel a million dollars and makes never break a smile and it doesnt have to be expensive; there are tons of cheap home whitening kits or even whitening toothpastes
I hope these steps are helpful to help you get ready for summer and to help you feel more confident in your own skin without having to diet and exercise
