Liebster Award- Part 2

So although i have already done this tag, I have been nominated again by the lovely Evelyn and Sarah From Fashiontroverts and the Beautiful Sarah from Sarah-Louisa - Thank you so much girlies. Both sets of questions the girls set on their blogs were too interesting and fun to not answer so i thought i would do another Liebster Award post.

Questions from Fashiontroverts

1. If you had the chance to live any where in the world, where would it be?
Thats a hard one, ever since i was little i have dreamed of living in Australia when i am older- i dont know how it came about or why i chose it but my mind is set on it. However recently i have really wanted to live in New York or London as the atmosphere is amazing and its great for the field of work i want to persue.
2. If you were given a one thousand dollar gift card that could be used in only one store, what store would it be?
Im going to cheat on this one and say a department store like Debenhams or Selfridges as they have so many different make up brands that i have a wide variety. Also i find it much harder splurging one an item of makeup than a piece of clothing so i would spend it on that.
3. What's your favourite line from a Movie?
"Ohana means family; Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten" Lilo and Stitch
4. What's one thing about yourself that you'd want to improve?
I am going to steer away from physical appearance things as i couldn't pick so i am going to go for my condifence or my possitivity as i tend to be quite negative and hard on myself which is something i definatel need to improve on.
5. What's your favourite season to dress for?
This is tricky as i love autumn/fall fashion as they are so cosy and the colours are beautiful and i love the look of layering, however, that style does not suit me as i am so short that baggy layering pieces make me look frumpy and even shorter so i will probably go for summer clothes as i love how simple and colourful it is.
6. If you could raid anyone's wardrobe, who's would it be and what item would you take?
Probably Blake lively, Mollie King or one of the Kardashians. They are my style icons and i love the way they dress. i would definitely take a pair of shoes or handbag as i can just tell they would be A-MA-ZING
and definitely out of my price range
7. If you had to choose one style for the rest of your life to rock what would it be?
Probably very classic and minimal, it would definately be monochrome and quite chic as i feel that can look amazing in the day and night and black can never go out of fashion.
8. If you could create your perfect bedroom, what themes/vibes would you incorporate into it?
I LOVE this question and got far too into it as designing and organising my room is one of my favourite things to do. i change my mind when it comes to my room and theme all the time but at the moment i am loving light grey and stripes, i would also add some tartan into it as i love that this time of year. it would be quite basic; very chic and classic.
9. What's one of your pet peeves?
I have a few so it would be hard to pick one but one of my main ones is when people dont listen as i hate having to repeat myself- i dont know why but its always bugged me when i've had to repeat myself (weird i know) haha
10. What's one thing you love that most people you know seem to hate?
I dont really think there is anything in particular, theres nothing that i love that is out of the ordinary.

Questions from Sarah-Louisa

1. What is your favourite high end and drugstore make up brand and why?
High end would have to be MAC as i love their lipsticks and eyeshadows and everything really haha. For drugstore i would have to go for L'Oreal or Bourjois as they are such good quality at such an affordable price.
2 .What is your most loved wardrobe staple?
It would definitely have to be my trusty leather jacket, i have had it for years and it has never worn out or gone out of style, i know for a fact that i have got my moneys worth from that jacket and don't know what i would do without it- sad i know
3. Who are your favourite bloggers?
I have so many that i love and get excited whenever they put up a new post, some of my all time favourites are; Viviannadoesmakeup, Lily Pebbles, Megsboutique and Emstalks
4. What are your blogging goals for this year?
I don't really have a goal; probably just to continue to post frequently and keep loving it as much as i do as it is such a fun hobbie that is actually quite beneficial- its a win win haha
5. If you could change your name to anything, what would it be?
I used to hate my name with a passion and want to change it all the time, everyone says i look like a Chloe or a Charlotte so maybe one of them?
6. Who is your style icon?
Definately either Blake Lively (for evening wear) and Mollie King (for everyday fashion) they both dress beautifully and i envy them so much
7. If you could meet anyone famous (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
This question was far to hard to answer as there is so many haha
8. What is your favourite thing about blogging?
The friendly community; i love when people comment on my posts and interact with me or compliment my efforts- it makes blogging so much more worth while and rewarding and leaves me with a smile on my face at the end of the day
9. What is your favourite movie?
That is such a hard one! Probably any Disney movie- Lady and the Tramp is one of my favourites or i love "A walk to remember" its a classic and i cry every time without fail. if you have not watched that movie i would definitely recommend it and can guarantee you will love it as much as i do.
10. What is your favourite thing to do on a day off?
nothing, literally NOTHING, if i have had a hard week studying and working i will just want to laze around and not even move to get dressed. However sometimes i am feeling energetic on my days off and like to spend it shopping or having a nice catch up with friends as i dont get to see them often
11. What is/are your holy grail make up product(s)?
Definitely my L'Oreal True Match foundation and Collection Lasting perfection concealers, i have to repurchase these the second they begin to run out, i looove them!

As this is my second edition of this tag i have missed out the 11 facts about me and nominating other bloggers as i have already done that in my first Liebster Award post. So if you have not been tagged and want to do this post then i nominate you and please comment saying you have done it (using my questions on my first post) and your blog links and i will go have a look!!

BodyShop Buys

I have never thought of buying makeup from the Body Shop before until I walked passed their shop one day and noticed they were doing a 3 for 2 offer on all of their cosmetics. I have heard good things about the BB cream and the famous Honey bronzer so I thought why not and had a little splurge; so I thought I would share with you all what I purchased.

FACE POWDER

I first bought the Body Shop All in One Face Base powder in 03 which is THE perfect shade for me! It is quite full coverage and makes my skin look flawless at only £14.00. I love to lightly dust this over my face if im wearing a light coverage foundation or even use the sponge that comes with it on its own as a powder foundation and it is A-MA-ZING

The powder comes in silver mirrored packaging then splits into two compartments; one with the powder itself then above there is a section with a sponge applicator. The middle part (the lift up compartment) also has a reasonably sized mirror so you can apply it on the go which is always handy. The only downfall is the mirrored packaging in my opinion as it gets grubby and dirty very easily.

The product is extremely pigmented (as shown in the picture above) and gives your skin that extra coverage without looking too cakey. I would definately compare this powder to the MAC studio fix powder as it has the same consistency and coverage and also the packaging is also identical. So if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to mac then I would definately go check this product out

BB CREAM

The next product I purchased was the Body Shop All in one BB cream which has been highly raved about in the blogging world over summer. As I am going away soon I was looking for a BB cream to wear in the evening as I don't want to pile on the foundation and this one is perfect at only £12.00

The product starts off as a white cream as shown in the first image and when blended turns into your skin giving slight coverage. This product has great coverage in comparison to a tinted moisturiser and a tiny dot can cover your whole face so it will last you a long time. I love the finish it gives as it has a slight dewy look which is perfect for my holiday so I can't wait to wear this!

BRONZER

The final product I bought was the Famous Honey Bronzer and now since I have it, I can't imagine my life without it- no exaggeration I have literally wore it everyday since buying it and it's only £13.00. The packaging is beautiful, i love the brown colour and the large mirror that comes with it which is always good when your on the go. The powder itself also has that honeycomb pattern which i think is a cute touch

The product is a beautiful light natural colour and is completely matt so it literally just looks like you have a tan. I like to apply this lightly all over my face and then apply it in the hollows of my cheeks for a natural everyday contour. I have wore this everyday for a week now and it still looks brand new. I know that this is a product that I will continue to repurchase and won't stop loving.

I would love to know if you have tried any of these products and if you love them as much as i do, also please recommend me some other Body Shop goodies that you have discovered as i have now fallen in love with the shop and want to buy more!!

Bargain Falsies

False eyelashes can really pull together a make up look and make your eyes really pop, so although some people hate the look of false eyelashes i give them the big thumbs up! *puts thumbs up*
Due to my tiny eye shape; extremely thick extravagant lashes just make me look like a clown so for over a year now i have stuck to what i know and wore the Cheryl Cole lashes by Eyelure. There lashes are so natural looking with a clear band making it look like your not even wearing false lashes.  Although i still love those lashes and they will always be a favourite of mine, i decided to go on the hunt for some fuller looking lashes and where else did i find them? in PRIMARK yes primark.

When browsing through the makeup section in primark i came across all of the false eyelashes all for a tiny £1! after spending at least £5 on one pair of Eyelure lashes it seemed stupid to not try out a pair for that cheap. There was a wide range and i first opted for the "Natural" lashes, however in comparison to the sultry ones they looked mush thicker so in the end i went for the sultry ones- and im glad i did. Not only did i buy one pair, i bought 3 pairs- so if i hated them then i could hate them three times as much (great logic i know)

These are now my go-to lashes for parties and special events as they are so thick yet still quite natural looking and I will keep my everyday lashes as my Eyelure Cheryl Cole ones. Not only do these Primark lashes look great but they apply so easily too! However, I have not got on with the glue included so I would recommend using the glue from other false eye lashes packets if you want your lashes to stay on all day without one of the ends popping up or coming loose

If you wear False eyelashes or are looking to buy some then definitely check out the selection in your local Primark as they are one of the best pairs I have tried- and for £1 what have you got to loose? Let me know if any of you have tried out any lashes from Primark or if you have any other false eyelash brands you could recommend I would love to try them out!

Quick Fix Facials Review

I have always had troubles with my skin all the way through my teens and it was only recently that i have found what the problem was. I have very dry skin which i've always knew but it was not till recently that i found out that that was the reason that my skin appeared red and blotchy in areas- due to it being so dry. After that ive used so many heavy moisturisers and hydrating face masks in order to get my skin rehydrated.

In the beginning i thought that forking out lots of money to get the best skin care was the only way to improve it, and dont get me wrong the Origins drink up intensive is a life saver and has completely improved my skin. However recently i have been testing some cheaper drugstore alternatives to see if they are just as effective at a more affordable price and boy am i glad i did!! While browsing in my local boots i found the Quick Fix Facial face mask range for around £3.00 a tube its a complete steal.

This product comes in a range for all different skin types from acne prone skin to oily to extremely dry. Obviously i went for the one for dry skin and i would recommend it so any other dry skin sufferers as it is a skin saver and nearly as good as the Origins one at a fraction of the price.

The product is a thick consistancy that you apply thickly to the skin and leave on for around 10 minutes. When on the skin the product feels so refreshing and hydrating that i never want to take it off. The thing that i like most about this product is that it does not harden up to the point of not being able to move your face which i never enjoy. The product is easy to wash off and since it is clear it does not stain any cloth or towel you use unlike a mud mask or coloured mask that does.
I have not tried any of the other ones from the range as they dont match my skin type but if they are anything like the one for dry skin i would definately try them out!

Let me know if any of you have tried out this product and loved it as much as i did, especially the other face masks from the range as i would love to give them a try!

How to style a White Jumpsuit- OOTD's

After lusting over the beautiful white strapless jumpsuit in topshop for months wishing i had the £60 to spend on it. I finally gave in and went on a mission last week to purchase it on my lunch break. Not only did i find it in my size (which they never normally have) but it was also in the sale for an amazing £20!!

Now i know that not everyone has found it in the sale and have acutally spent the £60 on this beautiful formal jumpsuit. So ive put together a few outfits to show the amount of ways you can style this one piece- from extremely casual to extremely formal so that you can get your full moneys worth and wear out of this.

heeled ankle boots for a simple
                                               everyday look

Perrie Edwards Inspired Makeup

Perrie Edwards Makeup always looks flawless and i am so envious of it so i thought i would try and create a makeup look inspired by her makeup in the picture above- One of my favourite of Perries looks. In this picture she has black heavy eyelinered eyes and long black lashes to really make her blue eyes pop! Her skin is glowing with strong pink cheeks almost used as a contour with a matching glossy pink lip. Altogether the look is beautiful and perfect for any special occasions or parties.

I have tried to re-create this look using mainly drugstore products to keep it affordable and the whole eye look is based on the Urban Decay Naked Pallet. I loved how this look turned out as the black eyes brings out my blue eyes and the pop of pink in the cheeks and lips really suits blonde hair. Altogether its very pretty and wearable.

Products i used:
  • L'Oreal True Match Foundation
  • Seventeen Stay Time Concealer
  • Topshop Glow Highlighter
  • No7 Pop&Glow Cream Blush in Mango Sorbet
  • Seventeen Brows That Brow Kit
  • Urban Decay Naked Pallet
  • L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic
  • Rimmel Soft Khol Eyeliner Pencil in 061 Jet Black
  • Eylure False Lashes 107
  • Collection Lasting Colour Lipstick in 6 Bubblegum
  • Clinique Chubby Stick in 06 Whoppin' Watermelon
Let me know what you think of this look and if you would wear it!

Whats In My Bag?

this is a popular post that has been going round the blogging and youtube worlds for a long time and i (being the nosey person that i am) love them and find it interesting having a wee snoop into what people carry around with them in their bag for a daily basis. However it does enourage me to buy things i really would never need or use just to make my bag more interesting "oh look she has a mini toothbrush in her bag i want one of them" are usual thoughts when i read these posts haha!So i thought i'd give all you nosey people like me a little snoop into my bag (the Zara City- origional i know haha) to see if you carry around anything similar to me or if theres anything in my bag that is unusual to any of you- please let me know if there is i would be very interested

My Handbag staples(always in my bag)

The first thing and the main event in everyones bag is a purse; id like to say my purse stays organised but that would be a lie. about every month i have a clear out and organise my cards into certain slots, put change in a certain compartment and have a place for reciepts. but in the end there are coins everywhere, cards in wrong places or even just lying at the bottom of my bag-for me to have a heart attack when i think their lost and stacked full with reciepts and bus tickerts. am i the only one or is this sounding farmiliar?

I also keep my phone (used to take these photos) which is the IPhone 5s in gold in my bag. I try to keep my phone in a certain part of my bag to keep it safe from scratches and smashes. But with the amount of times that i use it, by the end of the day it will end up staying in my pocket for easy access- lazy i know haha

another thing i always carry is my trusty diary/daily planner from Paperchase, it is a saviour for someone who likes to stay organised (or is just plain forgetful like me haha) this means that i can jot down any birthdays, essay deadlines or events that are coming up that i need reminded for. I also use this to keep any important pieces of paper together so save me losing them and it has all my passwords and information as i have so many different usernames and passwords for different thinks its hard to remember them all. This means i have them where ever i go yet if i ever loose it i will be in a sticky situation haha

A blogging journal is a new addition to my back but has very quicky became a very vital item in my handbag. I never thought i would really use one of these so always avoided purchasing one. I've read so many times that a blogging journal will keep you organised with posts and on track and let me be another to tell you this is 100% true, since having this i have been more organised which has made my blog posts become a more regular thing- as you can tell. In this i write down any blogging ideas becuse most of them i think of at the most random places so its good to have this in your bag so you can jot it down where ever. i also write down what i need to do for the blog posts and any vital information i want to include- its a super handy item, even if its just the notes section of your phone.

My Ipod is also something that very rarely leaves my bag (unless its being charged of course) if you are an iphone owner you will know that the battery life is awful at gets drained very quiclkly so wasting the battery on music is a big no from me. i know its unneeded to have an ipod and an iphone but its too damaged to sell and does the trick. I travel an hour to and from work everyday so music is needed for that long journey and is the only thing that keeps it bearable

The final things that stay in my bag at all times are an Umbrella and Sunglasses- both contradicting items but both just as important as the other in scotland. The weather randomly changes within seconds in Scotland and it can go from Pouring with rain to the sun shining so both items are a must! Since the umbrella is small and compact, it can fit in my handbag on a daily basis and wont take up too much room. My sunglasses are kept in a case to stop them being crushed and again dont take up too much room.

Other random items i found that arn't always there:

  • Hand Sanitiser
  • The days make up for touch ups
  • A few lipstick choices
  • My work ID card
  • A perfume- varies every day
  • My tangle teaser
  • My kindle (if I'm traveling)
  • Spair bobbles and hair clips

I am currently on the lookout for a new smaller bag seen as the Zara city is so big so please let me know what bags you have and what bags you would recommend! i would also love to have a nosey into what yous carry around in your bags so please like your post below if you have already done this:)

Apex Spa Hotel- Dundee

As a little treat for finishing my exams, i was taken on a much needed relaxing night away at the Apex Spa hotel in Dundee and i felt the need to share the trip with you for anyone that is looking for a relaxing weekend away or a luxury day at a spa that wont break the bank-  i couldnt recommend the Apex hotel enough!

The package that i had was amazing!! it included: one night stay; a complimentary drink on arrival; 2 luxury spa treatments; full access to the facilities (pool, gym, sauna, jaccuzi etc); a 3 course meal in the evening and a buffet breakfast in the morning- all for around £250 per person BARGAIN! I am unsure if that package is still available but there are always some great deals on the website so have a look through them before you book anything as you will save lots of money!

When we first arrived; we went straight to our spa treatments which we had pre booked. I chose to have a back and shoulder massage and a facial- pure bliss! The treatments were completely customised to you and they used products that were suited to your needs and skin type. The room was so peaceful with the lights dimmed and calming music playing. I came out of the treatments so zen- i could have fallen asleep there and then. After the treatments were done i continued the relaxation with a trip to the steam room and jaccuzzi- why not?

The room was much better than i expected, it was so spacious with extremely comfortable beds; a large flat screen tv, a bath AND a shower. It even came with a complimentary rubber duck in the bath that you could take home with you. yes you read that right! And yes of course i jumped at the chance of taking it home haha! We got a twin room which was more than enough room, it was so spacious and immaculately clean- it even had a beautiful view of a river from our window.

The staff were also so lovely, me being the typical blonde i am, couldnt work the dvd rental on the televison so at midnight i had to ask room service to come up and help. For someone to come up at that time of night just to press a simple button, she was lovely and completely laughed it off. The staff during the meals were also so kind and chatty, i love staff that will have a good conversation or two so this made me extra happy!

Moving onto the meals, i couldn't fault them, the 3 course dinner was from a set menu which was a tad to fancy for me but my mum loved it. The deal also stated that if you didn't like the set menu they would pay £25 towards your meal off of the regular menu, which is a brilliant idea for fussy eaters like me as i only had to pay £5 more and the meal amazing and definatley better than me getting the set menu that i wouldn't eat- smart move Apex!

The hotel is perfectly situated in the middle of Dundee and walking distance (around 10 minutes) from the main street with all of the shopping centres and restaurants. It is also close to the bars and clubs, and across the road from Malmaison which is perfect for fancy cocktails. This means there will always be something to do- aside from all of the things to do in the hotel- and you wont have to pay for a bus or taxi to do so!

If you are looking for a nice break away then the Apex is THE place to go! There are ones in Dundee, Edinburgh and Dundee so check them out! Let me know if you have been to the Apex before or if you are planning to go and how you liked it! I would love to hear if the Apex in London and Edinburgh compare to the Apex Dundee

Hairextensionsale.com Review

I am always so envious of girls who have long thick hair as my hair is the type of hair that can only grow to a certain length without looking thin and ratty (sob sob). The fact that i am forever highlighting my hair with bleach just makes my hair grow less- so add a result of this i have opted to "fake it till i make it" and use clip in hair extensions so that i can achieve my dream of having long flowing hair. Dont get me wrong i love my short hair too and only wear my extensions on certain occasions but for girls who desire to have long hair then i would recommend purchasing them- they are life changing but *WARNING* very addictive haha

i purchased the 18 inch "Ultimate (140-150g) Bleach Blonde hair extensions from hairextensionsale.com and i am obsessed with them! the colour matches perfect and they blend in perfectly making them look so real. I have had so many compliments with them and people have even commented on how they thought it was my own hair- BONUS!

This is the second time that i have purchased extensions from hairextensionsale.com and i couldnt fault the company one bit. However the first time i purchased them i only purchased the Duluxe set (95g-135g) and i would recommend them more than the ultimate set if you have normal to thin hair like me as they are cheaper and more than enough hair! The Ultimate set only comes with 5 more single clips which i was disappointed with at first however it means you have more control over how much hair you wear so i now much prefer that. The clips are quite big which i looove as it grips onto your hair making them much more secure and not sticking out. Although the clips are large they do not feel heavy on your hair and i find them so comfortable to wear- even for full days without pain.

Normally when i wear these extensions i only wear the Duluxe pack, this comes with- one 4 clip, two 3 clips, two 2 clips and two 1 clips. This is more than enough hair and look so natural. I personally prefer to wear my extensions wavy/curly as it blends with your hair making it more natural and it also makes the extensions look much thicker. I only add in the extra 5 clips that came with the Ultimate set if i am going to partys or nights out just for that extra volume but even if i dont use them they are perfect to keep spare for if any of the clips break or become damaged.

My last set lasted for months and that was even after i dyed them, cut them, applied heat to them millions of times and left them in big tangled piles every night (extension wearers will understand haha) even after all of that, none of the clips became loose or fell of i purely binned them as they became too thin after over dying and washing them (my fault) so if you look after these extensions and dont dye them or wash them too much then you will definately get your moneys worth. Speaking about the price, these extensions are a complete bargain (the name even says so) and around £40 approx depending on the package you get, for the quality and amount of wear you get out of them no one could turn down that price.

So if you are on the hunt for some good quality reasonable priced extensions, first time or regular extensions wearer. Then i couldn't recommend this company enough, out of all the extensions i have bought these are by far the best and i will definately be repurchasing from this company when i need too. In no way was i sponsored to say any or this and i 100% purchased these with my own money, but felt the need to share with you how much i love this brand

Questions from Jordan

1. Favourite beauty product to use at the moment?
At the moment i am OBSESSED with highlighter especially cream highlighters (Topshop glow to be specific) i dont know if its because its summer or i have such dry dull skin but the glow and sheen highlighter gives to my face just completely boosts my confidence.
2. Summer or Winter?
Summer no question, i love the idea of winter but when it comes to the reality of the cold weather especially the extremes that Scotland gets, i cant handle it *shivers*. Summer is definately my favourite; there is so much more things to do and everyone comes together and seem much happier when the sun is out- i love it!
3. Have you any siblings?
Yeah i have an older sister and an older brother, i used to hate being the middle child as there is a lot of claims that the middle child is always the one that is left out. But thankfully for me that is not the case and i prefer being in the middle
4. Favourite skin care products?
The Origins Drink up Intensive face mask is definately a saviour for my dry skin as it completely re-hydrates my skin and makes it so smooth and soft. Another skin care favourite of mine that i have mentioned in a previous post is the Garnier micellar water, it is amazing for taking off make up and is so good for your skin
5. Have you done anything exciting in the past week?
Nothing:( i have literally worked all week and been to tired to do anything in the evenings. Such an exciting way for a 17 year old to spend the last few days of summer haha
6. When is your birthday?
     the 28th of April 1997
7. Favourite types of blogs to read?
I love beauty and fashion blogs obviously, although they do make me want to go on an extreme spending spree and spend all my money on things i dont need haha. Being the OCD freak that i  am i also love organisation type blogs with tips and DIY posts
8. Bought any products that you didnt enjoy?
This is going to be a shock as this product is a favourite of everyones and completely hyped. But recently i purchased the "MAC Studio Fix Fluid" Foundation and it really wasnt for me. it did not work well with my skin type compared to my other MAC foundations and left my skin orange and patchy, not a fan.
9. What colour eyeshadows do you like to wear?
Im not really an eyeshadow wearer but when i do i like to keep it quite natural; sticking to only brown and champagne pink tones as i think they are quite natural and bring out my blue eyes
10. What country do you live in?
     Scotland unfortunately, *brrrrrr* haha
11. Favourite nail polish brand?
Barry M nail Polishes or Tanya Burrs Nail polish lines are my complete favourites- love!

OOTD- Summer Wedding

Dress- Miss Guided
Shoes- New Look
Blazer coat- Primark
Statement Necklace- Primark

Summer is the perfect season for weddings, and this year was no different. At the beginning of August i went to the most beautiful wedding and the day couldn't have been more perfect for it- the sun was shining, there was a cool summer breeze and it just made the whole atmosphere that tiny bit better!
I love a good wedding as it is the perfect excuse to get all dolled up in a newly bought outfit and its always a perfect day with everyone so happy. I know a lot of people think that you have to buy an amazing new expensive outfit for a wedding even though lets face it, we will probably only wear it that once. But i managed to find the most beautiful dress that was summer wedding appropriate at such a bargain it, it just goes to show that you can look good without forking out too much cash!
