Get Ready For Summer☼

As most of you are thinking, to be "summer ready" you need to diet for months and exercise to get the "perfect" summer body. But thats not what summer is about and you shouldn't need to do any of that to feel confident in summer. Summer is an amazing time of year where its always hot (not where i live *boohoo*) and you have tons of spare time to be free and create fun memories with the people closest to you (i know what your thinking- this post is becoming cringe and cheesy but hear me out *haha*) But unfortunately for alot of girls (me included) summer has became a time that we dread to get out legs or stomachs out, or get back in those bikinis, and spend months before on horrible diets crying over wanting the "perfect" body.

But, stop all of the crazy diets and silly squat challenges etc (we've all tried them*lol*) and be happy with how you are, as i have put together some simple steps to get you summer ready and make every body the "perfect" body.

  1. The first step that i personally think is vital to get your body ready for summer is waxing - throughout the year i dont normally do this as it is alot more hassle but for summer it is essential as it leaves your legs perfectly smooth for so much longer so you dont have to worry if you forgot to shave your legs that day- just get your smooth waxed legs out and your good to go. I know most of you girls will agree that a few days into a holiday you notice hairs have magically appeared back on your legs when sunbathing and it becomes such a inconvenience to shave them everyday.
  2. Exfoliating your skin in preparation for summer is so important as you need to remove any of the dead skin on your body as if you are going anywhere hot, having new fresh skin will help your tan last much longer as it wont peel off with the dead skin on your body. It also makes your skin feel much smoothing which will make you feel much more confident
  3. If you are going anywhere hot feel free to skip this step, however if you are staying home like me fake tan is vital in preparation for my summer body. Not only does it give your skin the "ive just spent 2 weeks in the sun" look instantly (if done correctly *haha*) but it will also make you feel much more confident to get those shorts and dresses on no problem! I dont know if this is just me but i also feel like my body looks much slimmer when im tanned (its probably just my mind playing tricks on me *haha*)
  4. Summer is the perfect excuse to go and get a proper manicure as there is nothing better than having pretty looking nails that wont chip straight away when you are off on holiday right? For summer it is the only time i ever get acrylics but i love them and the long white tips look amazing in contrast with my tan. This also means that i dont have to worry about re painting them or them falling off. However that is my preference and even just a bright coloured nail varnish will look just as good and make you feel just as confident.
  5. There is nothing worse than having to change from all your winter boots into sandals without having your feet looking perfectly clean and fresh so a pedicure is very important. Ensuring all the dead skin has been removed from the heels and soles of your feet and your nails are nicely trimmed and polished will make you feel 100x more confident to get those piggys out and show your new pretty sandals off to the world (that will be modelled by beautiful feet *haha*)
  6. A deep hair mask and face mask are also steps that i like to do before summer comes as your skin and hair will forever be out in strong heat and will dry up, so it will be good to deeply condition your hair and moisturise your skin before it goes through that. This will also make your hair look gorgeous and refreshed and your skin look glowing and beautiful so will make you feel more confident being bare faced around the pool and when sunbathing.
  7. Just like the waxing i like to wax/thread my eyebrows when it comes to summer, usually i just pluck them however i hate having to worry about my brows on holiday so waxing/threading means that they will be perfect for weeks without you having to touch them. Your eyebrows frame your whole face so it is nice to make sure they are maintained in summer especially when you are bare faced are rely on them (i know i do *haha*) you can even go as far as tinting them if you want one less thing to worry about and if it makes you feel more confident it is completely to each persons preference
  8. Another extra, unimportant step i like to do if i am feeling extremely unconfident or self consious is teeth whitening as nothing can make you feel more confident than a bright white smile. This will contrast beautifully with your tan and will brighten up your face to detract from any imperfections you feel self concious about. Whitening my teeth makes me feel a million dollars and makes never break a smile and it doesnt have to be expensive; there are tons of cheap home whitening kits or even whitening toothpastes
I hope these steps are helpful to help you get ready for summer and to help you feel more confident in your own skin without having to diet and exercise

TOP 10- Real Techniques Brushes

I am a strong believer that no matter what make-up you use - £1 products to £100 products- they can look equally as good if applied with the correct brushes.

I am forever searching for good quality make-up brushes for an affordable price and nothing has been able to compete with the Real Techniques brushes by Sam and Nic Chapman.
These amazing high street brushes are a favourite among many youtubers, bloggers and just makeup lovers in general and i would recommend these to anyone looking for good quality brushes that can last for years if cared for properly. Real techniques sell a wide range of brushes in most makeup stores including boots and superdrug. They are all sold separately (each around the £10 mark) and are also sold in collections that contain all essential brushes (collections vary around £20)

described from left-right, starting at the top down to the bottom
Powder brush - So big that it could powder your whole face in one (if you have a pea head like me *haha*) the bristles are so soft and applies the perfect amount of powder to set your foundation without looking cakey.

Expert Face brush - The perfect brush to give a flawless complexion with your foundation. This brush is extremely dense and doesn't leave brush strokes on your face like some brushes can do.

Buffing brush - A great foundation brush that is so easy and can apply your foundation in seconds. This brush doesn't soak up too much product and is cleaned easily. This brush can also be used for bronzer or blush or anything really, all of the brushes are multi-use!

Contour brush - Just like the name implies this brush is the perfect brush to give the "Kim Kardashian" contoured look. It is perfectly pointed to fit into the hollows of your cheeks and blends the product flawlessly. I find this brush works better with cream products compared to powder as it blends easier - Bourjois Bronzing Primer is my favourite and works wonders with this brush

Pointed Foundation brush - This brush has multiple used and like all of the Real Techniques brushes they can be used for different things without having to wash in between. For a flawless extreme contoured look i like to use this brush to apply cream blusher as you can perfectly apply it in a way that sculpts your cheekbones even better than contouring does. I also like to use this brush for concealing under my eyes as the thinness and the angle fits perfectly under the eye. This brush is also good for powdering in specific places to set your foundation for a fuller coverage.

Detailer brush - Like many of the others i have used this brush in so many different ways. The first is eye shadow on the lower lash line due to the small size of the brush. Another use is eyebrows for an extremely detailed look as the smaller size means you can sculpt out the shape more without worrying about giving yourself large eyebrows that don't suit your face shape. It can also be perfect to conceal around the brows for a HD brow effect or even to conceal any blemishes and point concealing.

Deluxe Crease brush - This brush is the ultimate concealer brush to cover any spots or imperfections perfectly to the point of being invisible. The brush is so small and dense that it fits in small places like around the nose and under the eyes.

Base Shadow brush - Just like the name says this is an amazing brush for eyes and all parts of it. With this one brush you can cover the whole lid, darken the outer corner, contour the crease, highlight the brow bone and blend everything out without having to wash the brush. I have the smallest eyes and it allows me to create the perfect eye look in great detail without me looking like i have been punched in the face *haha*

Brow brush - I have found this brush to work well in two ways. One being the most obvious- eyebrows. This is the perfect size for everyones eyebrows and is shaped to create a natural brow look using preferably a brow powder. With this you can strongly define the brow or make it look natural depending on how you use it. the other way is winged eyeliner as it is the perfect angled shape. Using a brown or black powder this brush is perfect to create a more subtle eye liner look without fail.

Accent brush - I find this brush perfect to line out your lips with lipstick and to fill in your lips for a longer lasting more precise application to stop any bold lipsticks like red from bleeding out of the lips. This can also be used for gel eyeliner on the top and bottom lash line and also for eye shadow on the bottom lash line. If you are going for a flawless contoured face this small brush is also perfect to contour down the sides of your nose for a slimmer effect.

Try and count how many times i use the words 'brush' and perfectly', every second word perhaps? oops *haha*
hope you enjoyed and found this useful in some way
